Miss Supranational is India’s Asha Bhat

Asha Bhat won the title of Miss Supranational 2014 in Poland and became the first Indian to clinch the crown since the event’s inception.

“I am ecstatic. It’s an unbelievable feeling and I couldn’t feel more proud. I am happy to have won this title for my country. Now I am just waiting to come back to my country and meet my family and friends who supported me throughout my journey,” she said in a statement.

Bhat, who represented India at the beauty pageant, competed against women from 70 other countries.

Bhat looked dazzling in a gown designed by Gavin Miguel and was crowned by Miss Supranational 2013, Mutya Datul, from the Philippines at the event late on Friday night. Bhat also won $25,000 (Dh91,825).

Earlier in the pageant, Bhat also won the title of Miss Talent.
