Dubai: The internet is buzzing with news of the upcoming Superman movie which is set to premiere on July 10, in the UAE.

One of the biggest reasons being, the new face for one of our favourite superheroes. David Corenswet, who was previously seen in Twisters (2024) alongside Glen Powell, will now be playing Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Other cast members include Bradley Cooper as Jor-El, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, and more.

While everyone rages on over the new Superman, I find myself going back to watching Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill as Superman.

Brandon Routh’s Superman Returns (2006) and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel (2013), were not the best Superman movies but they did have brilliant actors who stood out in every scene.

Superman Returns had Brandon Routh playing Clark Kent/Superman, alongside Kate Bosworth playing Lois Lane and now cancelled actor, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. While the movie received a rating of only 6.1 by IMDb, this was the first ever Superman I came across that made me appreciate DC more.

And then came Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, which also starred Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and more. Overnight, Cavill became the perfect fit for the role of Superman.

Which is why the change in the cast for the upcoming Superman movie created a big buzz. But while we wait to see how Corenswet portrays James Gunn’s new version of the DC superhero on July 10, make sure to binge the other Superman movies.
