The 2025 American Music Awards are officially in countdown mode, and the nominations have just been revealed — and they’re turning up the heat.

Announced on April 23, this year’s nominees are powered by the fans. The AMA selection process is based on key fan interactions, think Billboard chart numbers, streaming stats, album and song sales, radio airplay, and those massive tour grosses. In other words, if the fans showed up, their favourites  got noticed.

Blackpink’s Rosé has two nominations this year. First, she’s nominated alongside Bruno Mars for Collaboration of the Year for their hit track APT. But the competition is fierce. Also in the running are Kendrick Lamar and SZA with Luther, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with Die With A Smile, Marshmello and Kane Brown with Miles on It, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s I Had Some Help, and Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s Fortnight.

Rosé also lands a spot in the Favorite K-Pop Artist category, where the competition turns into a K-pop showdown — and yes, BTS is still very much in the game.

Despite the group currently on hiatus, BTS continues to make waves with not one, but two members — Jimin and RM — receiving solo nominations in the same category. Jimin, whose smooth vocals and performance style captivated fans, and RM, BTS’s leader known for his powerful lyrics and solo artistry, are going head-to-head with Rosé, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ. ARMYs and Blinks are already flooding social media, with the former saying that RM and Jimin's songs cannot be ignored, while Blinks argue that APT has been the rage since it's release.

The 2025 American Music Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on May 26. Expect unforgettable performances, high-stakes wins, and a night where K-pop and global pop collide on one massive stage.
