Ranveer Singh won the Best Actor award for his exceptional performance in director Kabir Khan’s ‘83’. He played Kapil Dev in the sports drama based on the Indian Cricket team’s World Cup win in 1983. The actor posted an image of himself on social media holding his award, writing: “Honoured to receive the ‘Best Actor’ award for ‘83’ at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022. Thank you for the love @Dpiff_official (sic).”

Kriti Sanon won the Best Actress trophy for her performance in ‘Mimi’, the Netflix film that saw her play a surrogate to an American couple who do a runner and leave her holding the baby. The actress won accolades for her sensitive portrayal.

Telugu film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, which broke all sorts of box office records in 2021, was declared the Film of the Year. The Allu Arjun-starrer continued to draw fans to the cinemas despite the movie releasing on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. Such is the draw of Arjun with the masses.
