Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Wednesday inspected the progress of work on the building of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts.

The Sharjah Ruler was briefed on the construction process and the building’s facilities.

The building will include modern studios, a main theatre hall, a Roman theatre, and halls for performing exercises, all of which will be equipped with the highest quality and latest audio and visual technologies and advanced control devices crucial for performing arts.

The building also includes a number of student lounges for friendly meetings outside the classrooms and exercises, and restaurants and a specialised library.

Shaikh Sultan was accompanied by Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, chairman of the Sharjah Public Works Department; Dr Amro Abdul Hamid, director of the Sharjah Research Academy; and Professor Peter Barlow, director of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts.
