The Scene team spill all on what they're doing, seeing, eating, wearing and watching this week...

As a major, major, Rat Pack fan (I was defo born in the wrong era, the noughties do nothing for me!), I’m very excited about the RP tribute at ADNEC tomorrow night (Fri 8), and have been brushing up on my show tunes all week. Plus, I love that old-school banter, and I’ll be getting dressed up to the nines to enjoy it, pally. Tuesday, am meeting up with the girlies and we’re undecided between hitting up the Park Hyatt’s Thai Kitchen or the Amwaj Rotana’s Benihana – yes, yes #FirstWorldProblems, I know. I’ve got to make a start on a cabinet I’m revamping (yep, I’m a secret weekend DIY-er, usually to be found at Ace Hardware in the paintbrush aisle). Must make time to check out SWATH (oh, and saw 21 Jump Street last weekend, btw, and it is hilarious) and hit up H&M for the third time in as many weeks. Lucy and I have been discussing how bang on trend it’s been this season.

I’m obsessed with Hard Rock Cafe in Dubai Festival City – burgers as big as my head, soft rock tunes on the big screen and hops on tap. All this combined with the Stevie Nicks paraphernalia means it’s one of my fave spots in Dubai. So, yes, Thursday will be spent there, reminiscing over the early Nineties fashion crimes in the music videos. On Saturday I’m going to finally try the Circuit Factory fitness class with my friend Lindsay – she’s totally obsessed with it and says it’s the hardest workout she’s ever tried. I’m imagining I might be a bit shaky afterwards, so I’ve planned an afternoon at Riva Beach Club on the Palm – no matter how bad the class is, I will probably be able to lounge by the pool in comfort. Later in the week you’ll find me watching Prometheus – I love me some Ridley Scott – reading my new book, Bed, which is about a weirdo family in Britain, but is brilliant, and watching Scandal with Kerry Washington, it’s addictive!

OMG! How amazing was Madonna? I think I’m still buzzing from what has to be one of the most incredible performances I have ever seen – Madge, you are awesomeness personified! A totally mega start to the week, it has to be said, but what else is coming up isn’t looking too bad either, even if it is slightly less Vogue-filled. I’m going to be checking out the new Ruth’s Chris Steak House at The Address Dubai Marina for dinner and a turbo-catch up with my pal Katie, getting buffed up with an amazing body scrub and massage at Spa Dunya at JBR (it’s the best exfoliating treatment ever), then I’m heading to my fave vintage emporium, Bambah and The Zoo, to snap up a stack of new (but old!) goodies at their amazing 50-per-cent-off sale, which starts today. See you there!

This evening I’m looking forward to some as-good-as homemade food at The Farm, I’ve been looking forward to heading to this home-grown haven for a while now, and I can’t wait to try the Vietnamese lettuce rolls, apparently they’re veggie-tastic. Tomorrow I’ll be having a little party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Yes, I know it’s a week late, but we couldn’t be celebrating the occasion before the royal herself, could we? There will be more bunting than you can shake a stick at, royal masks (I can’t pick between Kate and the Queen for myself), Jubilee juice, teacups and cupcakes aplenty. I’m yet to locate a red, white and blue dress, so here’s hoping I have one by tomorrow. On Saturday I’ll be trying out indoor skydiving at iFly in Mirdif City Centre, it’s bold and adventurous, but in a controlled, risk-free environment, perfect!
