Five recreational projects in Hatta to boost tourism
Dubai: Dubai Municipality is undertaking five recreational projects in Hatta costing Dh17.5 million.
The projects aim to boost tourism here and provide more green spaces to residents.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said the projects include expansion of the existing Hatta Hilltop Park costing Dh7.5 million and construction of four new community facilities in different parts of Hatta at the cost of Dh10 million.
He said the expansion of Hatta Hilltop Park would involve providing more greenery, add more playing grounds for children and a 800 metre-long jogging track.
"As part of the project, special barbeque areas will be set up. In addition, more shaded seating, walkways and more play areas will be provided. The existing plants and date palms will be redistributed. Also in the plan is the setting up of a wider irrigation network on top of the mountain so as to keep the plants constantly irrigated," said Lootah.
"We will incorporate the old heritage elements in almost every construction inside the park," Lootah said.
He added that the four community facilities would be set up in different parts of Hatta and works of the project are expected to begin in August.
