Dubai: Brand Dubai and Wasl Properties have joined forces to transform Dubai into an open-air art museum by creating public art projects across the city.

Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), has signed an agreement with Wasl Properties, a subsidiary of Wasl Asset Management Group, to collaborate on art projects that will position Dubai as a cultural hub that bridges the east and west.

The first joint initiative is an art project at the Samari Retail community. The artwork is a wall painting that combines traditional Emirati art with modern creative styles.

Mona Al Merri, Director-General of GDMO, said the agreement is part of Brand Dubai’s objective of “contributing to the development of Dubai’s cultural and artistic scene in collaboration with our strategic partners”.

Hesham Abdullah Al Qasim, CEO of Wasl Asset Management Group, said the collaboration with Brand Dubai is their way of helping realise Dubai’s future vision. He said Wasl is also keen to give Dubai residents a great cultural and aesthetic experience.

Brand Dubai and Wasl Properties will form a team to manage their upcoming joint projects. The partnership also facilitates the exchange of experiences, knowledge and information.
