Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi residents can enjoy an interactive digital exhibition of one of the oldest Quran in the world from Monday at Umm Al Emarat Park in the capital.
The digital exhibition of the Birmingham Quran has reached Abu Dhabi for the first time as part of its UAE tour and will stay here until November 29. One of the oldest surviving Islamic manuscripts, the Birmingham Quran is considered a global treasure.
Senior officials, including Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development,attended a preview of the exhibition on Sunday evening.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, viewed the exhibition in Sharjah after chairing an extraordinary Cabinet meeting at Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), where the UK was Guest of Honour in celebration of the UK-UAE 2017 Year of Creative Collaboration.
More than 14,000 people visited the exhibition earlier this month at the SIBF and visitors explored the manuscript in digital form as well as viewed a detailed replica of the holy script.
After the exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the University of Birmingham’s exhibition will move to Atrium 6 at D3 in Dubai’s Design District from April 19 to May 3, 2018.
The Birmingham Quran exhibition forms a highlight of the UK/UAE 2017 Year of Creative Collaboration, held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and The Prince of Wales.
