Abu Dhabi: An Abu Dhabi court convicted an Arab TV channel operating from Dubai Media City, a media production company and seven of their employees for filming three women without their permission for a TV programme.

The accused were charged with breaching the privacy of the women from the Gulf by filming them at a shopping mall. The women claimed they lost their jobs for appearing on the TV programme, according to a press release issued by the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department.

The court ordered the TV channel, production company and their seven employees to each pay a Dh5,000 fine. They should also pay legal costs to the complainants.

However, the names of the convicts or the mall were not revealed.
