A rare Phantom that blends traditional craftsmanship with high fashion
Dubai: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the Phantom Dentelle, a singular expression of craftsmanship and design, created as a private commission for a Middle Eastern client.
The vehicle, developed as a deeply personal gift for the client’s father, was conceived and brought to life through Rolls-Royce’s exclusive Private Office in Dubai.
Drawing inspiration from a rare piece of couture lace, the Phantom Dentelle blends traditional craftsmanship with high fashion. The lace — crafted on a ‘Leavers loom’ and known for its three-dimensional floral motifs and pearl-like sheen — served as the creative foundation for the car’s interior and exterior detailing.
“This stunning Phantom Dentelle is an homage to the exquisite handmade lace used in some of the world’s leading haute couture ateliers,” said Michelle Lusby, Bespoke Designer at Private Office Dubai. “Using embroidery, we translated the elegance of this delicate material into our pinnacle motor car, creating a piece that reflects beauty, craftsmanship, and individuality — an authentic expression of haute couture.”
The Phantom Dentelle features a unique embroidery suite that brings the couture lace inspiration to life inside the cabin. At the heart of this personalisation is the Gallery — a full-width, glass-covered fascia unique to the Phantom — transformed into a detailed floral composition made of over 160,000 stitches.
The embroidery uses layered techniques, blending thread tones like Rose Gold, Sunrise, and Oatmeal to create depth and texture. A triple-run stitch forms a filigree mesh base, while satin stitches craft the petal shapes with a soft luster. Raised accents mimic the look of pearls, capturing light as it moves — an effect likened by Rolls-Royce to the shimmer of a gown under flashbulbs.
“The embroidery in the Gallery and rear Waterfall section is designed to replicate the lustre of pearls,” explained Brienny Dudley of the Rolls-Royce Interior Trim Centre. “As you move around the vehicle — or as sunlight shifts during a drive — it glimmers subtly, bringing a sense of life and movement to a static design.”
The floral theme continues in the Waterfall between the rear seats, which incorporates 70,000 additional stitches. The cabin is finished in Sunrise and Grace White leathers, with embroidered ‘RR’ monograms on the headrests and a Piano White veneer for added sophistication. Speaker grilles in Rose Gold subtly echo the embroidery’s palette.
The exterior of the Phantom Dentelle is no less intricate. It features a two-tone Bespoke finish: Crystal over Arctic White on the lower body and Crystal over Palais Nemasker Dawn — a color developed exclusively for the commissioning client — on the upper half. A double coachline in Sunrise ends in a hand-painted motif of a leafy branch with pearl-like berries, reflecting the interior’s lace-inspired theme.
The vehicle rides on 22-inch Fully Polished Disc wheels, with body-matched centers and Arctic White pinstripes. The iconic Pantheon Grille is polished to a mirror finish and topped with a Rose Gold Spirit of Ecstasy. Matching engraved treadplates in Rose Gold complete the exterior flourish.
Phantom Dentelle was commissioned through Rolls-Royce’s Private Office Dubai — an invitation-only space where clients work directly with Bespoke designers and Client Experience Managers to shape their automotive vision.
Offering complete privacy and personal access to Rolls-Royce’s creative team, the Private Office brings the marque’s legendary craftsmanship closer to clients in the Middle East.
With Phantom Dentelle, Rolls-Royce demonstrates once again how inspiration from the world of haute couture can be woven — literally and figuratively — into the world’s most luxurious motor cars.
