Remember the cute looking Citroën Ami? Well, that tiny two-seat electric vehicle which we first laid eyes on as a concept last year, is going into production with a spring release confirmed.

Measuring just 2.41 metres long, it is classed as a “light quadricycle” much like the Renault Twizy. And this means that it can be legally driven in France by teenagers as young as 14-years old while in the rest of Europe, it can be driven by 16-years olds.

Citroën says it will sell the Ami outright and has hopes to rent it out like electric scooters and other micro-mobility solutions.

It will be available to rent on both a monthly and minute-by-minute basis. Monthly rents will be as low as $22 (after you make an initial payment of $2,919).

It also has an incredibly stripped down interior – you need to use your own phone and a Bluetooth speaker if you want a basic bit of functionality like listening to music.
