This stunning 1982 Toyota has a 5.7-litre V8 engine!

Legacy Overland is an American firm known for their exceptional restorations of classic Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40s, Range Rover Classics, Land Rover Defenders and Mercedes G-Wagens.

The aftermarket specialist brings together old-world craftsmanship and modern amenities with great attention to detail. Some of their restomods are immaculately gorgeous.

The FJ40 has been a firm favourite with Legacy Overland for the restomods. But their latest one is arguably their best ever mod of the classic Toyota.

Painted in Desert Storm Tan colour, this 1982 FJ40 has matching white-coloured accents on the grille, bumpers and wheels.

The special FJ40 rides on 16in OEM steel wheels with chrome OEM hubcaps, wrapped in BFGoodrich Mud/Terrain 285/75 R16 tyres.

At the back, it gets a 10-litre Jerry can painted in the same colour as the car, a license plate holder with lamps, rear LED utility light, and a spare wheel on swing-out carrier.

The interior has been finished in vegan leather, maintaining the original styling, but accentuating it with edge piping in the colour of the car and with microperforated seats.

Even the top of the dashboard, door panels and cubby box are covered by the same type of leather, while the floor gets a custom-made textured vinyl carpet with edge trim.

Being a restomod, the FJ40 gets creature comforts such as air conditioning, a RetroSound Long Beach Bluetooth enabled media receiver with Sirius XM satellite radio and four Pioneer speakers, and a USB charging port.

Powering the Legacy Overland Land Cruiser FJ40 is a brand new 5.7-litre crate engine mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission – both sourced from General Motors. This lends the vintage Toyota off-roader a V8 rumble and lots of power.

Mechanical upgrades include disc brakes front and rear, disc parking brakes, Old Man Emu leaf springs and suspension components, Terrain Tamer gas shocks, custom-built fuel tank, and power steering among others.
