Stitch-up? Nope - Bentley’s diamond-in-diamond quilting looks fabulous!

Hot on the heels of the Rolls-Royce special-edition Phantom with over a million stitches in the cabin, Bentley’s Mulliner custom shop has followed up with an unparalleled display of master craftsmanship of its own.

The luxury carmaker’s quilted leather with diamond stitching is already an eye-catching design, but it has taken this a step further by stitching a diamond within the diamond and customers love it.

Each piece of the pattern requires 712 stitches and a master craftsman must use specialized equipment which was built for the task.

It needs a high level of skill to produce and has a complex design story and manufacturing process.

It is soft to the touch and truly stunning in appearance when viewed from both the inside and outside of the cars.

Bentley says its Diamond-in-Diamond Quilting is surging in popularity at the moment; it is being ordered by three-quarters of its customers of the new Continental GT and Continental GT Convertible.

The fancy yet elegant stitching covers all the seats, door casings, and the rear quarters. Bentley describes the pattern as an “elegant series of ever-lengthening diamonds tumbling down the seat, in precise yet seemingly random formation.”

Bentley says the pattern is for the “discerning customer” and if you have to ask how much it costs it probably means you can’t afford it.

This Rolls-Royce Phantom's interior was specially commissioned by a Stockholm-based entrepreneur with a passion for flowers. The special ‘Rose Phantom’ has a million embroidered stitches.
