Look: This Rolls-Royce Phantom was customised by an artist (and no, he isn't five years old...)

A contemporary artist was allowed to have his way with a Rolls-Royce Phantom... What could possibly go wrong?

The answer probably depends on your attitude towards art cars. If you like them, you may find this Phantom painted by US artist Bradley Theodore quite nice...

But, if you are not on board with a contemporary artist turning a Phantom into a canvas, then look away now...

Rolls-Royce is a luxury institution so we reckon your eyebrows will be in a raised position while looking at these pics...

Either way, this Phantom is very, very hard to ignore...

It is not an official project endorsed by the British brand, it is an individual effort...

It was commissioned by Abu Dhabi Motors - but we wonder if it is destined for a customer in the UAE?

We are not art experts so we will leave those who are to comment on the painting...

Abu Dhabi Motors said: “Theodore has shaken the contemporary art world with this striking use of color, his passion for fashion and his personality. What happens when art and luxury combines?” Hmm, we won't answer that...

Not a fan of the artwork? Concerned about the Phantom's resale value? Worry not, for the original blue paint is safe as the Rolls was fully wrapped before Theodore went to work on it.

We would pass on the chance to customise a six-figure Phantom. Remember, "if you break it, you buy it!" It would take us two lifetimes to pay off...

As for the luxurious cabin, it appears as exquisite as when it left the Goodwood factory. Sorry Bradley, your paint brushes aren't allowed in here...

Over the years, Rolls-Royce has become a byword for automotive opulence. For the pinnacle of road going luxury, not much can beat the Phantom.
