This 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser has received the restomod treatment and we have to say that it looks terrific. Done by Legacy Overland, who specialize in restoring and modernizing classic off-roaders, the FJ40 hasn’t just been renovated to its former glory – it has also received a few modern upgrades too.

The suspension was replaced with an ARB / Old Man Emu set up, including leaf springs, shocks, shackles and bushings.

To bring the iconic Seventies off-roader into the modern day, the tuner upgraded the front and rear brakes to discs, a power steering unit was installed, and LED headlights were fitted to improve visibility.

New creature comforts include a RetroSound vintage Bluetooth-enabled radio with four speakers, a USB charging port and an air conditioning unit.

The 4.2-litre Toyota 2F engine has been rebuilt; it gets new pistons, rings, sleeves, and bearings, the crank and cam were polished, the valve seats were ported, the surfaces were machined and the carburetor was upgraded to a free flowing Weber unit with electric choke. It also has a rebuilt gearbox and transfer case.
