Tom Cruise is loving the people of Dubai, or at least as far as his official tweets are concerned.

And, judging by his multi-lingual posts, the Hollywood star, who happily posed for pictures with Gulf News readers at Ski Dubai recently, is ever-obliging.

Responding to a tweet from a fan on Monday who asked him to say something to his Indian fans, Cruise tweeted in Hindi: "Congratulations to all the Tom Cruise lovers in India! With your mercy, we really appreciate you."

Minutes laters, he tweeted the same in Urdu, thanking his fans in Pakistan.

Earlier, a fan asked the actor, currently filming in Dubai, to re-tweet a message if he has enjoyed his stay in the city. Cruise promptly did, and added: "We love the people of Dubai."

Then, he humoured another fan who said: "I love Tom Cruise for doing his own stunts, it's like so amazing!"

"Yah, but scarrrr-y 2watch!", the actor replied.

English actor Simon Pegg, who will reprise his role as Benji Dunn, a lab technician in the fictional elite espionage team led by Cruise's character Ethan Hunt, is also in town.

Pegg seemed amused by a diet cola can with the label written in Arabic and tweeted the picture.

Later, he added: "Staying in a hotel with glass lifts looking out onto a vast atrium. Whenever I go up to my room I can't help humming the Superman theme."

The film also stars Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton, who are also in town.

Cruise is co-producing Ghost Protocol, the fourth installment of the hugely successful action franchise, along with Mission: Impossible III director and Lost creator J. J. Abrams.

Last week, at a press conference to officially announce the latest film, the actor was asked about filming at the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure.

"I'll be spending many days, many hours on the side of this building," he said. "I can't give you details, but I will be up there."

And he has. See all the pictures of him in action at the Burj Khalifa plus pictures of Gulf News' readers who sent in photos of them taken with the actor here.
