The Toshiba Portege Z930 is a light ultra book that does not compromises on functionality. It is the latest ultrabook in the series and builds on the promise of the earlier models in the line-up.

The Z930 is slimmer and lighter than its predecessors, weighing in at only 1.12 kg. The design however is very industrial and uninspiring and heavily features magnesium alloy. The very professional looking laptop screams: business!

And it means business. The Portege features a Core i7 processor and 6 GB of RAM giving you a lot of computing power in a very small case. Moreover it has a Solid State Drive (SSD) so everything gets up and running quickly and smoothly. The screen is 13.3 inches, perfect for portability, but the resolution is a measly 1366x768. A laptop of this caliber needs a 1080p display. However it was bright in the sun and has a very sharp display.

The laptop has a great keyboard and is very comfortable to type with. However, the large trackpad has buttons which take some getting used to, and offer more resistance than expected.

The Z930, just like its predecessors, makes no compromises on connectivity. It features a full HDMI port, full VGA port, multiple USB 3.0 ports, a full LAN port and an SD Card. This is brilliant because it eliminates the need for adaptors or special cables, which can be either a minor inconvenience or a major frustration. In addition the laptop also features Wireless Display (WiDi), so you can connect it to compatible projectors and televisions without cables.

The laptop has six hours of battery life, which is good but less than that of some of its competitors.

The Toshiba Portege Z930 starts at AED 3,729 and goes up to AED 5,800.
