Dubai: The Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector at the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai in collaboration with OSN, the leading pay-TV network in the Middle East and North Africa region, have launched an extensive awareness campaign against TV piracy. The two firms said in a joint statement that the move is aimed at strengthening awareness among the public on TV piracy, a serious violation of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). The campaign will run until April 2015, through more than 20 OSN TV channels, various radio stations and local newspapers as well as websites and social media. The campaign will also highlight the negative impact of TV piracy on the television industry, particularly the pay-TV sector.
