Ronaldo Mouchawar, CEO & Co-Founder of Souq.com told Gulf News the e-commerce only sales is in keeping with latest trends as the phone is targeted to the youth.
“Honor is targeted at youth who spend more than one-third of their time online browsing, social networking or shopping. It is a world’s leading smartphone e-brand for mobile generation now.
“Huawei has found that globally, selling online been extremely popular, as consumers can compare the phones online before purchasing,” Mouchawar said.
Sun Baigong, vice-President Online Sales, Huawei Consumer BG, Middle East told Gulf News they are positioning the phone in direct competition with the iPhone6 Plus, as it is similar to the iPhone6 plus in terms of dimensions and weight.
According to Baigong, the standout feature of the phone is imaging, where they have packed three cameras — two 8MP rear cameras (3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED flash) and one 8MP front camera.
Huawei claims the twin cameras at the back ensures the light capturing is doubled, allowing for better pictures even in low light conditions.
The Honor comes with dual sim phone (micro sim and nano sim), 64-bit Kirin processor, and a big 3600 mAh battery.
The 32 GB phone is available in black, white and gold. Priced at Dh1,399, they will be available from May 18, though pre-orders can be placed on souq.com from May 12.
