Imagine basketball with zero gravity. Throw in dynamic obstacles, and mind-bending trick shots. It makes a dunk contest look tame.

NBA 2K25: Gravity Ball isn't your standard hoops everyone loves to play.

This futuristic multiplayer showdown is set in space-themed arenas where the laws of physics go out the window.

This bold new mode within the iconic NBA 2K25 simulation game isn’t just a slam dunk.

Published by 2K Games, NBA 2K25: Gravity Ball brings the court to the next level, redefining sports gaming once again.

The inspiration?

Developers at Visual Concepts revealed they wanted to blend basketball’s energy with sci-fi adrenaline, creating a game mode where athleticism meets creativity.

NBA 2K25, as the 26th installment in the legendary NBA 2K franchise, has big sneakers to fill. Its predecessor, NBA 2K24, introduced the revolutionary ProPlay animation system and captivated millions of players globally with hyper-realistic graphics and dynamic gameplay.

Building on its popularity, NBA 2K25 continues to dominate. Now, Gravity Ball has players buzzing.

Gravity-defying game

The gravity-defying online-multiplayer game offers 3-versus-3 (3v3) and 5v5 formats.

There’s a sci-fi twist to it: advanced ball physics defy regular gameplay norms.

Think high-flying dunks, curveball passes, and mind-bending trick shots.

There's a learning curve involved. One has to master special abilities: gravity flips, anti-grav alley-moves, and galaxy-sized dribbles while you outwit and outmanoeuvre the opposing team.

Leaderboards ablaze

It’s no surprise Gravity Ball has captured the imagination of players worldwide.

With countless matches already logged, online leaderboards are ablaze, and social media is teeming with clips of epic plays and hilarious blunders.

Streamers have also picked up the pace, bringing Gravity Ball into the mainstream.

But is it for everyone? Probably not.

Side project

Some gamers suspect it’s a side project by Visual Concepts — perhaps with the same team that made the GoKart mode and 2K Lego — who used “2k25” to gain exposure.

It's for gamers who either love experimenting or are diehard fans.

How to play Gravity Ball

First, hop into the mode through the main NBA 2K25 menu. Then, choose your avatar or favourite NBA player.

With power-ups scattered across each arena, matches are short, action-packed, and perfect for teaming up with friends online.

Learning curve

Like traditional NBA 2K, there’s a learning curve. but mastering Gravity Ball adds an entirely new layer of depth to the franchise.

Fans have welcomed this fresh twist, saying it adds just the right amount of chaos to their beloved basketball experience. Some, however, find the microtransactions a sore point.

Availability, pricing

Gravity Ball is available as a paid add-on exclusive to New Gen platforms (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S). This online-multiplayer game offers 3v3 and 5v5 formats.

For players with existing New Gen versions of NBA 2K25, upgrading to Gravity Ball is as seamless as a well-executed pick-and-roll.

The final whistle

NBA 2K25’s Gravity Ball isn’t just a game — it’s a whole new way to experience e-basketball.

Every slam dunk, teleport pass, and zero-gravity buzzer-beater feels like a leap into uncharted territory, blending excitement with cutting-edge creativity.

Whether you’re a die-hard basketball fan or just in it for the thrill, Gravity Ball is here to deliver a ride that’s well worth the hype.
