Dubai: Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and Palmeiras qualified for the Club World Cup last 16 on Monday, June 23.
Goals from Tadeo Allende and Luis Suraez set Inter Miami on their course for a victory until the last ten minutes of the game, when Palmeiras Paulinho and Mauricio scored goals respectively.
The game ended in a draw that secured both the teams a spot in the last 16, and a top spot in Group A.
Messi is set to face his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, as Inter Miami and the European champions face off in the last 16. Palmeiras on the other hand will face Botafogo for a place in the quarter-finals.
