Chief Executive Officer of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Abu Dhabi

He is the Chief Executive Officer of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Abu Dhabi - the first international facility of the United States' top-ranked eye institute for 24 years. Dr. Kenderian led the partnership negotiations that brought Bascom Palmer to the UAE, establishing a Centre of Excellence that integrates AI-driven diagnostics, advanced surgical care, and telemedicine services for patients across the Gulf. Under his leadership, the institute supports the region's first eye bank in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Biobank, making corneal transplantation services available locally for the first time.
Concurrently, Dr. Kenderian serves as Executive Vice President and Group Chief Operating Officer at August Medical, LLC and SOZA Group. He holds a Doctor of Medicine with honours from the University of Baghdad and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
In 2019, he was elected President of the Minnesota Academy of Medicine - the youngest in the institution's history. In 2020, he was appointed a Member of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem by the British Crown, in recognition of humanitarian contributions including co-founding mobile eye clinics for refugees in Jordan in partnership with the International Medical Corps.
Dr. Kenderian is a published commentator on Gulf healthcare economics and vision health policy, with opinion pieces featured in regional publications. He operates from Abu Dhabi, Minnesota, and Miami.
