MONJENIQUE PHOTOGRAPHY: South African mum of two, Monjenique, is a family photographer living in Dubai who has just had her second baby during the pandemic. “It has highlighted for me, once again, the importance of documenting life's special moments to share with family and friends,” says Monjenique.

Monjenique says her passion is to be as creative as possible – this Dr Seuss-inspired composition even involved her knitting the Cat-in-the-Hat hat especially for the shoot.

“I aim to provide artworks that are uniquely custom-themed to invoke an emotional response, and capture family bonds timelessly,' says Monjenique.

EMOTIONS NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY: Mum-of-one Mahvin is a newborn photographer who enjoys creating whimsical backdrops to capture dreamy newborn compositions.

Newborn photo shoots are best taken when your baby is only a few days old. If you are pregnant and would like a newborn shoot it’s best to plan it at the beginning of your third trimester to pencil in a slot.

The props are decided in conjunction with the parents In order to create a concept that reflects the family’s values.

TINY TOES PHOTOGRAPHY: Samar Alsharif is founder of Tiny Toes Newborn Photography who creates posed portraits with a combination of earthy, organic, neutrals and pastels colours. “I like to use some props but keep the focus on the beautiful baby,” says Samar.

“I like to keep my portfolio in a fine art form, with at least one simple, natural set up for each newborn session, as trends come and go but natural and neutral colors are timeless,” says Samar.

“The process of shooting the baby is done with immense respect and care. I feel a deep sense of honor in the presence of this newly arrived baby.”

SASHA GOW PHOTOGRAPHY: Originally from cold and snowy Siberia in Russia, Sasha moved to Dubai nearly 10 years ago after having met her future husband on a plane. Sasha had a lifetime ambition to be a photographer and over the years found her passion in posed newborn photography.

Being a new mum herself, Sasha says she knows how quickly those first days slip away and how precious these moments are.
