We've had our fill of Jack 'n' Jill!
Twinkle, twinkle Little Star
We're left wondering what you are?
Nursery rhymes we're sad to say
Seemed to have had a better day.
More parents think the rhymes a bust;
No longer valued as a must.
Humpty Dumpty's doomed to fall;
No pieces picked up for one and all.
Forget not Mary, Mary —
Forever quite contrary.
Baa baa Black Sheep, left without wool;
Her three sacks remain forever full.
Jack and Jill climbed up the hill;
Rhymes lost, they stay there still.
Instead of rhymes, the telly rules.
A legacy lost. Pity us fools!
