Iran continues to supply Al Houthi rebels in Yemen with ballistic missiles and drones that are prolonging the conflict there, bringing misery and death to our Arab brothers, and clearly demonstrating that despite the regime’s rhetoric, it is supporting hostile and terrorist acts and actively breaking an arms embargo imposed by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

This stark and indisputable finding is contained in a confidential report to the UNSC by a panel of its experts who examined debris on the ground in Saudi Arabia after Al Houthi missiles were shot down as they streaked towards civilian targets there between this January and July. These short-range ballistic missiles carry the forge and aluminium press stampings of Iranian arms manufacturers, and have been transferred to the terrorists after the 2015 arms embargo.

Clearly, the volume of evidence, its diverse nature and the veracity of the experts collecting and examining them, now put to bed any false claim from Iran that it doesn’t supply its weapons to Al Houthis. It does.

The 125-page report shows that Iran’s arms manufacturers, through deliberate and approved regime policy decisions, and through the tentacles of its Revolutionary Guard, not only export the missiles themselves but also provide the logistics, training and targeting support to enable these weapons to be set up, fuelled, readied, aimed and fired.

The only conclusion from this damning report is that Iran is guilty of spreading terror and unrest, has complete disregard for the UNSC and its resolutions and continues to arm militias from the Bab Al Mandab to the Mediterranean for the sole purpose of spreading its sectarian agenda. Iran is indeed a merchant of war.
