The restaurant, which was located opposite her house in the area of Al Khan, also played blaring music that prevented her from sleeping.

The upset caller pointed out that the noise had become worse since the FIFA World Cup started after the restaurant set up large plasma televisions, which broadcasted football matches until late at night.

The noise became extremely severe and intolerable to bear, Hanan explained, as the deafening music echoed into her house.

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, affirmed that the emirate of Sharjah is a family friendly place with residents that want to live in peace and quiet.

Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, contacted Sharjah Municipality and instructed officials to address the problem.

Sharjah Municipality’s official social media accounts confirmed that Thabet Salem Al Tarifi, Director-General of the Sharjah Municipality, will take action against the restaurant, and said that it will carry out the orders of the Ruler of Sharjah.

The television screens were removed from the restaurant, and the owner has been contacted to follow up with the municipality’s instructions.
