Dubai: For an ethereal experience for art-connoisseurs and amateur art-lovers alike, the Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) is a must-visit in Dubai. Taking advantage of digital innovation, art masterpieces come to life in this space located in Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

Launched in 2019, ToDA is an immersive art space spread over 1,800 square metres. The theatre has surround sound and large HD screen projection all over the walls and the ceiling. While in there, you will feel cocooned in the art you enjoy since all surfaces come to life with the projections and the accompanying music.

While the focus is on enjoying art in this new way, ToDA also has something for everyone when it comes to activities. From live musical nights and yoga classes to masterclasses for adults and kids’ activities, ToDA has something for every age and interest. The space is also open for private events.

The subject of the artistic shows range from classics to contemporary art. ‘Being Van Gogh’ speaks for itself in terms of the subject and the mastery of the art that you will enjoy in 360-degree magnificence. Other shows are “Klimt & Japan” and “Klimt & The Impressionists”.

Music and art

The perfect amalgamation, the musical events at ToDA are a testament to how classical music and jazz complement the vibe of the space and the art on display.

For instance, their “From Monet to Kandinsky. Revolutionary Art” show is accompanied by a live music performance by Soren Lyng Hansen, a famous talented Danish cellist, double bassist and pianist.

Another show to try, in addition to the regular live jazz nights which is a fun-packed performance, is “Frederic Chopin: Life and Music of the Piano Legend”. World-famous polish pianist Andrej Wierciński will unfold for the visitors the biography and musical pieces of a Polish composer, Frederic Chopin, in an original performance.

Fitness, kids’ activities, masterclasses

Visitors can also take advantage of the calming space and art with a morning yoga class. With COVID, you need to bring your own mat but this means year-long air-conditioned yoga classes with beautiful ‘views’.
