    COVID-19: 80 per cent capacity allowed at UAE National Day events

    The UAE has announced the COVID-19 related protocol for public gatherings during UAE Commemoration Day and the UAE National Day.

    The announcement was made by the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority on November 2, 2021.

    These are the rules that you will need to follow when joining the upcoming National Day celebrations: - Present a negative result of PCR [Polymerase Chain Reaction] test conducted less than 96 hours prior to the activity.

    - Temperature must be checked before entry for all attendees. - The attendance capacity at the event should be set at 80 per cent.  - Always wear face masks when indoors and in crowded areas.

    - Adhere to a physical distance of 1.5 metres. - Members of the same family can stay together without the need to apply the physical distancing rule.

    - People of all ages are allowed to attend the event, provided they have received the vaccine more than 14 days ago, got a booster shot or have a Green Pass status on their Al Hosn application.

    In September, Abu Dhabi Media Office announced that those who have received their second dose of the Sinopharm vaccine should get a booster dose to maintain eligibility for the Green Status on the Al Hosn app.
