Muscat: Sami Yusuf, hailed by Time magazine as ‘Islam’s biggest rock star’, will perform in Oman on August 30 at the Grand Hall of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).

The British singer-songwriter, composer, producer and musician, who has a huge fan following across the Middle East, Europe, North America and North Africa, will perform in Oman for the first time at the show organised by Black & White in association with Bandera Events LLC.

Considered one of the biggest messengers of love, hope and peace in the Islamic world, Sami Yusuf, 33, got into the record books after a staggering 250,000 people packed Taksim Square in Istanbul, to see him perform.

British daily The Guardian called him the “most famous British Muslim in the world”. His latest album, Salaam, has brought him further global recognition. According to the orgnisers of the show in Muscat, the British singer is keen to perform in Oman.
