Dubai: The Pakistani community is absolutely shaken by the tragic passing of Junaid Jamshed who was one of the passengers aboard the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) that crashed in the northern mountains.
As the news spread on Wednesday, fans and celebrities took to Twitter, to mourn the pop star-turned-evangelist and pay homage to his work as an artist and a religious leader.
Jamshed was the vocalist of the Vital Signs band that became widely known with the release of the patriotic song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ in 1987. He and his wife Nayha were among the 48 people on board the flight that crashed on the way to Islamabad from Chitral.
"He will always have a special place in the heart of every Pakistani," said Sanom Baloch, a Pakistani actress and television presenter.

Junaid Jamshed's journey was so quintessentially Pakistani. Conflicted, passionate, devoted, ubersmart, and so, so talented. Tragic loss.

Long drives on empty roads flanked by trees, with a Vital Signs tape on repeat. Some of my happiest memories from an Islamabad now lost.
