Dubai: Hollywood has been left reeling after yet another sudden celebrity death.

Brittany Murphy's death on Sunday rounds off a year that's seen the demise of stars such as Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Patrick Swayze.

The 32-year-old star of such films as Girl Interrupted, 8 Mile and Sin City was found by her mother in the shower, apparently the victim of a heart attack. A postmortem is scheduled for Tuesday.

In reacting to her death, many celebrities remembered her vivacious personality.

Alicia Silverstone, who starred with Murphy in Clueless, reminisced about their 1995 breakout hit. "I'm so saddened to hear this news… I always felt connected to her as we shared a very special experience in our lives together."

Ashton Kutcher, Murphy's former boyfriend and co-star in Just Married, was one of the first to react, turning to Twitter to send his condolences: "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband & her amazing mother Sharon."
