A major character in Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of The Sith, General Grievous is the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Grievous appears in only one film, although he later appeared in the animated series Clone Wars. The General is a cyborg (half machine, half alien) who can use four lightsabres at a time. He received his first sabre from the fearless Count Dooku, a disillusioned Jedi who personally trained him. An interesting trait of Grievous's is that he always kept his defeated enemies' lightsabres.
Before his reconstruction as a cyborg warrior, following a crash which destroyed most of his body, Grievous was one of the greatest military geniuses his planet Kalee had known. His yellow, red-rimmed eyes, his brain and some of his internal organs were transferred to a droid body, and the ailing General fell into the care of Count Dooku.
Dooku used Grievous as a killing machine, with unstoppable multi-weapon abilities.
During the Clone Wars, General Grievous personally killed approximately one hundred Jedis. In spite of his anger and hate towards the Jedi Order, his past as skilled swordsman made him appreciate the craft involved in the making of the sabres that he collected after a successful battle.
