Rashid Center for People of Determination in association with The First Group has announced the '7 Emirates Cycle Challenge'. The goal of the event is to provide sustained educational support programs for people of determination.

The event, which kicks off on December 9 and will run until December 12, is an invite-only challenge. It will see athletes, entrepreneurs and C-Suite executives cycle across the seven Emirates – the aim is to raise awareness and support the Rashid Center for People of Determination.

The ride will also see participation from renowned professionals of the sport, including Sánchez “Samu” Samuel, former Spanish professional road bicycle racer. He will be joined by Vitor Carvalho, a retired pro-cyclist and former member of the UAE National Olympic Cycling Committee.

The first of its kind event aims to provide support for Rashid Center through scholarships for students of the center’s secondary school. The center provides youths with vocational training.

Commenting on the event Mariam Othman, CEO, Rashid Center for People of Determination said: “The UAE is a country that provides tolerance and inclusivity, and our partnership with The First Group reflects this message. We are pleased to witness this initiative take place, which seeks to raise awareness and play a positive role in providing people of determination life-changing opportunities that will also help them overcome the challenges they face.”
