Jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. recently unveiled its 2021 Blue Book Collection in Dubai. The event marked the inaugural presentation by the House in showcasing its renowned high jewelry collection in the Middle East.

The milestone was commemorated with Tiffany & Co. revealing a reinterpretation of its archival 1939 World’s Fair Necklace featuring the over 80-carat Empire Diamond. The said piece is the most expensive the jeweler has ever created.

The House announced earlier this year that it would reimagine the legendary necklace. The piece is thoroughly modernised, however, it still retains the original aquamarine design with an over-80-carat, D color, type IIa, flawless oval diamond, the largest diamond that the company has ever offered.

The aforementioned is only overshadowed by the Tiffany Diamond, and the recreation of this historical piece is an ode to the brand’s innovative approach to jewelry design.

The Empire Diamond is equally special in its usability. It can be worn as a necklace, but it can also brilliantly convert into a diamond-encrusted ring in a platinum setting. The 1939 World’s Fair presented “a glimpse into the World of Tomorrow,” coupled with the theme of Dubai Expo 2020 of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, thereby making Dubai the apt venue for the event.

The resplendent piece is set against a backdrop of contemporary design, organic lines and spectacular views of the Dubai skyline.

The exhibition area is equally elegant, and features colour palette inspired by the jewel-toned stained glass of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s famed lamps. From loose stones, including rare coloured gemstones to legacy gemstones — morganite, tsavorite and tanzanite — which the jeweler proudly introduced to the world over the course of the 20th century.

Tiffany also has another salon, which pays homage to the company’s iconic designer Jean Schlumberger, featuring his creations that meld wit and curiosity.

For the uninitiated, this is perhaps the best introduction to the legendary brand.
