Born in Paris in 2005, the fine jewellery house Messika is run by Valérie Messika, and is known for its meticulous attention to detail, even in the their most delicate pieces. Now Maison Messika has announced the face of its new campaign; the face being renowned model Kendal Jenner. The shoot was held in the south of France and was shot by Chris Colls, an Australian photographer.
The theme of the shoot sees the confluence of Kendall Jenner’s elegant figure with the magnificent natural landscape. The images aim was to capture the enormity of the sea melding with the sky, thus representing freedom.
In the shoot Kendall wears a blue lamé swimsuit, and alternatively, a jacket taking a break in the clear water or on the pristine white sand. The goal of the imagery is to portray and project the energy and the confidence of a young woman who is an achiever and has struck a balance between her physical appearance and emotional strengths.
Valerie felt that Jenner was the perfect person to personify the Messika woman as the new face of the campaign.
Photographer Chris Colls captured the essence of a liberated spirit in the shoot, combining aesthetics of fashion photography with moving elements for a multi-degree approach, not unlike Messika jewellery, which is reflective of dual femininity.
Valerie Messika commented on the campaign: “I wanted to illustrate a subtle alliance between grace and strength and capture an image of an alpha woman with a mysterious and hypnotic aura; Kendall perfectly embodied that for me.”
“I am very happy to have been chosen by Messika for its new campaign. Its jewellery has always reminded me of Paris, one of my favourite cities. During the shoot, I was able to see so many beautiful pieces, which gave me a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship of the house that goes into even the smallest earring,” concluded Kendall Jenner.
