It’s finally here! Dior has launched the much-anticipated Dior Vibe bag. The bag was first revealed at the Dior cruise 2022 show in Athens, Greece. The work of Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Dior Vibe is a sports-luxe bag is unlike any other. According to Dior, the Vibe bag “unites the world of sportswear with the Dior heritage”.
From the outset the Vibe bag was supposed to be a hybrid creation. The design reflects that with design elements that one might find in sneakers. Overall, the Vibe bag adds a layer audacity to what still remains a stunning Dior object of desire.
Across the various aspects of its creation from design to manufacturing, the Dior Vibe bag uses the House’s emblematic curves with lightness and finesse. Naturally, the “Christian Dior” signature stripe is clear and present – in this case, lined with a layer of leather and foam and created using high-frequency printing.
The pieces are cut out with the help of wooden patterns, and are then individually assembled and sewn together. The rubber base of the bag, meanwhile, sports the Monsieur Dior’s lucky star and is inspired by the soles of sneakers. The base is punctuated with gilded feet that represents the melding of “the casual spirit and the art of detail so dear to the House“.
The rubber zippers blend usability and elegance seamlessly and aesthetically follow the graphic lines of the bag. There is also a zip-up exterior pocket, adding to the sporty aura. Reverse appliqué quilting technique is used to apply the lining to the interior, while each side is delicately structured for a singular look.
In essence, this is a must-have accessory this season.
