The 49th edition of The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences was held recently at a gala dinner in New York City. The event was the first in-person since the pandemic and had a star-studded turnout.
The evening saw attendance from TV professionals from across the globe and was hosted by actor and comedian Yvonne Orji at the Great Hall of Casa Cipriani.
Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby walked the red carpet along with several international celebrities. Dressed in a strapless black gown, she captured the attention of fans. The actor, who featured in Nawara was nominated for ‘Best Performance by an Actress’ for her role as Leila in the thriller series Every Week Has A Friday.
Additionally, former NBA Player and NBA Champion with the Dallas Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki presented the International Emmy Directorate Award to Dr. Thomas Bellut, Director General of German public broadcaster ZDF, one of Europe’s major and renowned broadcasters.
The International Emmy covers programs and performances from eight countries; namely France, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, PR China, Thailand, the UK and the US. These include Kubrick by Kubrick (Arts Programming), David Tennant (Best Performance by an Actor), Hayley Squires (Best Performance by an Actress), Call my Agent ! – Season 4 (Comedy), Hope Frozen: A Quest to Live Twice (Documentary), Tehran (Drama Series), 21st Annual Latin Grammy Awards (Non-English Language US Primetime Program), The Masked Singer (Non-Scripted Entertainment), INSiDE (Short-Form Series), The Song of Glory (Telenovela) and Atlantic Crossing (TV Movie/Mini-Series).
