A reader in Dubai asks: I am working as a HR supervisor in a company. My employer sent me the first offer letter to my home country. It is a limited contract. They later sent me the visa with the position of archive clerk. Due to unavoidable circumstances I came to Dubai and I requested my employer to change my visa as per the agreement but in vain. What should I do?
The questioner has two choices:
1) Accept working with the company with the same employment mentioned in the visa, and sign the employment contract on the basis of the employment, provided that he agrees with the employer to change the employment according to the letter of the company after six months of the employment contract. This is the period permitted by the Ministry of Labour to apply for a change in the employment.
2) To refuse working and file a complaint before the Ministry of Labour on the basis that the employer did not commit himself to the said employment, and the Ministry of Labour will consider the complaint.
