Can I encash air ticket?
A reader in Dubai asks: I have resigned after working for a multinational company for the past four years. I only took my annual leave and air ticket for the first year. My company permits employees to encash air tickets if they do not go on vacation. Since I am leaving the company after completing four years of service, am I eligible to encash the ticket?

According to the Court of Cassation in Dubai, if the company regulations provide any extra benefits for the worker, they take the legal form of a salary and may not be removed or decreased except with the approval of the worker. Thus, a yearly ticket is part of the salary and the reader can demand it if it is included in his labour contract and the company regulations.
