Why are online job sites so popular?

Easy and user-friendly

Online websites are easier than manual searching as you can filter positions or vacancies based on your preferences, experience, or skills. 81.1 per cent of respondents said that job sites are an easy and user-friendly way to apply for vacancies.

Effective

Two-thirds of the survey respondents (66.2 per cent) said that online job sites are useful because they collate all available roles into one or more websites, which makes it easier to access all of them in one place.

Improving job seeker profile

Most online career portals now give the option of improving resumes or profiles of the job seekers for an additional amount. Manual reviews of CVs are also offered by some websites for as little as Dh80. One in five of the respondents claimed that this made career websites very useful during the job search process.

Daily availability and collation

71.8 per cent of respondents claimed that they look for jobs online on a daily basis. The websites not only collate vacancies, but also arrange them chronologically, and according to relevance for the job seeker.

Application status

96 per cent of the survey respondents agreed that the 'application status' tab offered by some websites is extremely useful as it shows if your application has been viewed by the employer or job poster.
