Hang out in The Garden before summer comes to Dubai

The Garden stands true to its name and is a great place to take advantage of Dubai's winter

To be honest, when I first walked up, it looked like nothing more than a small section cordoned off with wooden partitions. Nothing special, or so I thought.

The Garden

The entryway is marked by a huge oak cask, designed to be the arch, and a stone-laid path which opens into the experimental bar.

The bar is on a raised platform, one that is shared by live musicians. Heaters have been placed around oak casks functioning as high tables. There are also a few wooden benches in this part of what is described as an 'urban oasis'. There are string lights hung above the entire space.

On one side, there is a huge board explaining parts of Scottish history involved with creating beverages and the environmental aspects of the process. The whole theme of the bar is pairing beverages with culturally significant foods such as fruits, cheese and chocolate.

There are paths leading out from this central area to cocooned seating spaces that are marked by thematically significant decor pieces. For example, there are some smaller oak casks hung as a faux wall around seats, with plants growing out of them.

The whole space looks unassuming from the outside but is quite spacious and has a unique layout.

In February, the theme is fruits while March and April will see cheese and chocolate respectively, paired with signature beverages.

It is a unique outdoor space, and is well worth a try - at least before summer strikes in full force.
