Serves 4 | Preparation/cooking time: 15 mins | Frying time: 8 mins | Difficulty: easy

Ingredients

8 slices white bread, ready-sliced

6-8 tbsp chocolate spread

3 eggs

2 tbsp sugar

250ml milk

3 tbsp butter

Method

1. Lay out four slices of bread and spread the chocolate. Place the remaining slices on top and press together.

2. In a flat-bottomed bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar and the milk. Carefully coat the sandwiches in the egg-and-milk mixture on both sides, allowing the excess to drip off.

3. Heat a little butter in a frying pan and fry the sandwiches in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until light brown. Serve immediately.

Tip: If desired, you can place a few slices of banana or raspberries between the bread slices for a delicious fruity flavour.
