The Shangri-La's efforts to remain among the top Abu Dhabi resorts lives up to expectations.
A fabulous iftar buffet was set up steps away from the hotel's reception area, where a team of friendly staff efficiently lead hungry parties to the dining hall. Iftar here is so popular that the hotel expanded the dining area into two other restaurants to accommodate the crowd.
Every food group was beautifully arranged. The salad and entree bars are rich in quality and choice. Make sure you try the oysters and smoked salmon, so fresh and yummy.
The hot meals included a Thai station with every great flavour the East has to offer — you won't regret trying the mixed seafood with lemongrass. The seafood station has a great display of shrimp, scallops and lobsters, all fresh.
The Arabian food section features traditional lamb and rice and many more meals tasting just like mum's. Don't miss the fish curry at the Moroccan section.
If a sweet tooth is what you have, then I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Exotic or traditional desserts were abundant, pleasing to the eye and stomach. The highlight of the desserts was the mesmerising chocolate fountain for dipping fruit and marshmallows.
