The plot The first Taken film, which saw the gravitas-oozing Liam Neeson chasing kidnappers around Paris to find his daughter, was one of our fave action films of the past decade. But this, a rehash that sees the same characters doing the same things but just in a different place – Istanbul – just isn’t as good. The action’s decent, Neeson is brilliant, and yet the film feels more like a remake than a sequel. If you loved Taken and seek more of the same, you’ll be sated by this, but if it’s originality you’re after, move along.
