C.V. Anoop, an engineering graduate from Waynaad quits a lucrative career and dedicates his life for the welfare of the less privileged, especially the tribals of Waynaad. When he is found murdered in his lodge, it sets rolling an investigation by police Officer Ratheesh Vasudevan. Enquiries and cross examinations take Vasudevan to Waynaad, and viewers get to know Anoop, the social activist, who was much loved by all.

What then could have been the motive behind this murder, wonders Vasudevan? Is it a case of political rivalry? Revealing beyond this would be a spoiler. This story keeps you hooked until the first half, after which, though it gets predictable, the neat presentation of the narrative keeps it going. An impressive debut by Salaam.

Mohan Lal is at his subtle best as the police officer. Each time you watch Fahad Fazil in different roles, you realize that the actor keeps raising the bar for himself. He seems to have slipped into Anoop’s skin quite comfortably. Matching him at every step is another promising young actor, Asif Ali. Saijju Kurrup acquits his part well. The female characters are small roles yet significant ones, and the heroines have done a good job. With a backdrop like Waynaad, how can it not be a visual treat?
