Kahaani

Who's in it? Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee
Rating 5 out of 5
The plot This thriller stars the brilliant Balan as a pregnant woman on a hunt through Kolkata for her missing husband during the Durga Puja festival. While it's a terse tale packed with gut-wrenching human stories and important issues, Sujoy Ghosh's film is ultimately an ode to and study of the bustling city of Kolkata - and the minimally invasive guerilla filmmaking style of Ghosh gives the story a buzzing urgency. Just wait for the twist at the end!

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Who's in it? Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton
Rating 4 out of 5
The plot The fourth instalment of this spy series is the highest- grossing film Tom Cruise has ever made, and with good reason. Jaw-dropping stunt scenes off the Burj Khalifa aside, the action is fierce, the story of a secret anti-terror unit fast-paced and the characters unusually loveable for a big blockbuster.Simon Pegg's comic relief in many ways makes the film.

Intruders

Who's in it? Clive Owen, Carice van Houten, Daniel Brühl
Rating 3 out of 5
The plot This eerie parallel tale tells the story of two families, one in Spain and the other Britain, whose children are haunted by apparitions of a faceless stranger. Touching on our fears of mortality and sanity, the movie is more subtle than most horrors, and starts stupendously - however, it does lose its momentum by the end. Clive Owen is as excellent as always as the strong silent type in the lead, and you will be scared more than once.
