Abduction
Who’s in it? Taylor Lautner, Lily Collins, Sigourney Weaver
The plot This somewhat clunky thriller tells the story of a young lad (a non-werewolf version of Lautner) who discovers a photo of himself as a child on a missing persons website. Why on earth he’s randomly trawling said website aside, he then goes on a mission to find out what happened to him – a journey that puts his loved ones in danger and opens him up to a whole new world. While it’s fun to see Taylor in a film that’s not Twilight, his acting chops here are not great, and overall the film is a bit too holey to be enjoyable.

Love & Other Impossible Pursuits
Who’s in it? Natalie Portman, Lisa Kudrow, Scott Cohen
The plot Emilia (Portman) is a newlywed Harvard law school graduate whose life takes a turn for the worse when she loses her newborn daughter. Struggling with her grief and trying to get to know her new stepson, things are made even more difficult by the fact that her husband’s jealous ex-wife Carolyn (Kudrow), keeps getting in the way. The teary, and at times melodramatic story is very honest about modern-day relationships. Lisa Kudrow is particularly amazing in her role as the bitter, wronged woman.

Who’s in it? Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Sonam Kapoor, Irfan Khan
The plot Raj (Deol), Yogi (Suniel Shetty) and Vikram (Khan) are best friends, business partners and married men – and they all cheat on their wives with many women. Soon the beautiful wives start to catch on and hire a private detective (Kumar) to tail their husbands, with the findings leading to chaos all around. The movie has a great cast, and the chance for many laughs, but overall it fails to deliver – and even its soundtrack is entirely underwhelming. An opportunity well and truly missed!
