Who's in it? Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Prateik, Manoj Bajpai

The plot Centred around the controversial Supreme Court verdict on reservations, this is a poignant tale that explores how an idealistic college principal, Prabhakar Anand (Bachchan) deals with a divided, caste-obsessed society, without losing the goodwill of his trusted disciple, Deepak Kumar (Khan), dedicated student, Sushant (Prateik), and loving daughter Poorbi (Padukone). It's a story of their love, zest for life and dreams for the future.

What we liked After tackling the evils of political hierarchy with sensitivity in the box office hit Raajneeti, celebrated filmmaker Prakash Jha strikes yet again, with a power-packed ensemble star cast, brilliantly exploring the rifts that cropped up after reservation, which had initially set out to promote equality in Indian society, was put in place.

Prakash and Anjum Rajabali's screenplay magnificently reflects the ethos and conflicts of the divided society.

What we didn't like Despite its attempts to not get preachy about the issue, Prakash does let go occasionally, albeit through the declarations of protagonist, Prabhakar.

e+ says Never resist a Prakash Jha film, especially if it throws light on the evils of society and forces you to choose sides.
