What to expect:
Virtually every second restaurant to open in Dubai purports to be an ‘oasis of a calm’, so imagine our joy when we discovered The Farm, an actual oasis of calm. Located at the Al Barari estate just off Emirates Road, one minute we’re thundering down dusty tarmac, the next we’re cruising through verdant foliage. The surroundings are unmistakably jungle-like (think vibrant fauna and steamy ponds everywhere) and without wanting to sound corny, it really is like being transported to somewhere in the tropics.

Approaching The Farm, the minimalist exterior shines through the greenery and after taking a seat inside, we were very impressed to discover snazzy iPad menus. A few pokes and drags later we’d ordered a feast of eggs florentine, gluten-free chocolate waffles and bircher muesli. Each dish was more delicious than the last. The beverage selection was also comprehensive with everything from smoothies to fresh juices on offer, but in the end we opted for lime sodas and Royal Breakfast teas.

Stuffed to the gills, this was truly a breakfast of champions and we’ll definitely be back for a second round.
